The Timex/Sinclair 1500 is an updated version of the Timex/Sinclair 1000 (and therefore the Sinclair ZX81).
The T/S 1500 is a T/S 1000 clone that is packaged in a rubber-keyed Sinclair Spectrum-type case. It includes 16K of RAM on-board instead of the 1K or 2K that was included with the ZX81 and T/S 1000.
The T/S 1500 addressed two of the primary problems with the
earlier Sinclair machines: the poor keyboard and the need for an
external RAM expansion module (with a notoriously flaky connector)
to run most commercial software. These improvements were largely
too little too late, and the T/S 1500 was much less successful than
the earlier 1000.
